Jewish Family Service (JFS) recently held its 22nd annual gala, which raised more than $1.2 million for programs for approximately 100,000 men, women and children who turn to JFS each year for support services such as shelter, counseling and nutrition.
Eileen and Harold Brown were honored at the gala with the JFS Anita and Stanley Hirsh Award for their leadership, dedication and support. Mindy and Gene Stein were also honored with the JFS Spirit of Humanity Award, and former U.S. Congressman Henry Waxman received a special recognition award. Pictured at the gala are JFS Board chair Debby Barak; Waxman; JFS Board member Dena Schechter; and JFS president and CEO Paul S. Castro. For information, visit www.jfsla.org.
