Students at the Girls Academic Leadership Academy heard directly from experts in the STEM fields on Feb. 24 during the sixth annual Young Women’s Career Conference at GALA. Diverse women leaders from the aerospace, gaming, engineering, architecture, medicine, entertainment, criminology and environmental science industries visited the school to offer information on career opportunities. The event was organized by the Friends of GALA.
The Young Women’s Career Conference was created six years ago by the to provide GALA students with opportunities to interact with, learn from and be inspired by women working in STEM careers. The GALA Leadership Academy is an all-girls public STEM school in Los Angeles Unified School District. It is located at 1067 West Blvd. on the campus of Los Angeles High School.
