Life Group LA is holding a free zoom seminar on Friday, Aug. 14, from noon 2 p.m. titled “COVID-19 & HIV: Improving Our Wellness Through Our Relationship With Animals.”
The program will explore the human-animal bond, how it promotes positive mental and physical health, and how people can improve their lives with animals. Guest speaker Taylor Chastain will lead the event produced by Life Group LA and Pet Partners.
Chastain is national director of AAI advancement for Pet Partners, an organization focusing on research and professional development in the therapy animal industry. She is also a dog trainer and Pet Partners team evaluator, and has been a registered handler since 2015. Having witnessed hundreds of interactions between her therapy animals and people they’ve visited, Chastain remains passionate about the importance the human-animal bond plays in helping people who have suffered traumatic experiences.
The Life Group LA is a coalition focused on the spiritual, emotional and physical well-being of people living with HIV and those who support them. Founded in 2005, Life Group LA provides free information and emotional support through medical forums, emotional support groups and the POZ Life Weekend Seminar.
Registration is required to participate in the online seminar. An email will be sent by 9 a.m. on Aug. 14 with the Zoom link. For information, call (888)208-8081, or visit lifegroupla.org/zoom.
