Available through March 14, the vegetarian Cafe Gratitude has crafted a special prix-fixe lunch available for $20 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. that includes a starter and entrée. CHLA partners with restaurants
The annual month-long campaign brings the community together to support local restaurants and businesses and gives back to the hospital, to help provide life-saving services to over 600,000 children each year. Some of this year’s partners include Shake Shack offering a 25% donation at all 12 locations. Ggiata Delicatessen is having a CHLA patient create a special Make March Matter sandwich with a percentage of sales donated to CHLA all month long. Go Get Em Tiger is creating a special cookie with sales going to CHLA during the month of March. H. Wood Group has four restaurants – Slab, Petite Taqueria, Delilah and Nice Guy – supporting the campaign. Porto’s Bakery is bringing back their delicious CHLA butterfly cookie with proceeds going to the campaign, and Randy’s Donuts is creating a special donut at their Inglewood location. Sant’olina pop-up at the Beverly Hilton
A new dining option is set to open at the Beverly Hilton. Chef Michael Teich, David Johns and Slab’s Burt Bakman are offering a melting pot of Israeli and Mediterranean cuisine with a SoCal vibe. The hotel’s brand-new 360 degree view rooftop restaurant by the H. Wood Group is set to debut this month. Menu highlights include mujadarra, halloumi, cauliflower tabbouleh, Israeli salad, chickpea matbucha, lemonfish crudo, zucchini keftedes, borekas, Pacific oysters and harissa-cured salmon. Vespertine Oaxaca at home
Chef Jordan Kahn continues to expand on the his atmospheric theme, recreating the Vespertine dining experience, this time offering Oaxacan dishes. Available for delivery or pickup from the Culver City restaurant, a new Oaxaca menu is available starting Friday, March 5. Each package is $95 per person and sold in servings for two. The Oaxacan menu includes an optional supplemental mezcal tasting for $49, featuring three of Kahn’s favorite mezcals from Nuestra Soledad, crafted from the villages of San Luis del Rio, Santa Maria Zoquitlán and Lachiguí Miahuatlán. ‘Cook with Jacques & Friends: Volume 2’
The Jacques Pépin Foundation is excited to release “Cook with Jacques & Friends: Volume 2,” a video recipe book featuring over 40 chefs, bartenders and others from across the country. Los Angeles chefs Antonia Lofaso, Brooke Williamson and Josiah Citrin are among those who have contributed recipes for “Volume 2.” Each contributor submitted a video and recipe so readers can watch and cook alongside the contributor. The video recipe book is available to all Jacques Pépin Foundation members. Membership starts at $40 per year.
