Over 230 artists participated in the 50th anniversary Beverly Hills Art Show on May 20-21, exhibiting works in the categories of ceramics, digital art, drawing and printmaking, glass, jewelry, mixed media 2D and 3D, painting, photography, sculpture and watercolor. First-, second- and third-place awards were presented in each category, and four specialty awards were presented.
City Councilmembers John Mirisch and Sharona Nazarian, along with members of the city’s Arts and Culture and Recreation commissions, presented ribbons to the first place and special category winners. The first-place awardees included Benjamin Gordon (mixed media 2D), Isaac Anderson (mixed media 3D), Gunnar Turnbull (sculpture), Nick Leonoff (glass), Elayne Bryn (digital art), Sean Hill (jewelry), Sharon Austin (drawing and printmaking), Youngbok Park (photography), Taman VanScoy (watercolor), and Brian Blackham (painting). Peyton Burnett was recognized as the Best New Artist and James Aarons was honored for Best Display of Art. VanScoy also received the Best of Show award.
