The Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office is warning the public to beware of criminals offering free video-aided physician exams. In the telemedicine scams, perpetrators promise consumers that a video appointment will be covered by their health insurance. Instead, they take the victim’s health insurance information and file bogus medical claims while the consumers may receive no services. Report suspicious activity by visiting insurance.ca.gov.
