The city of West Hollywood and the West Hollywood LGBTQ+ Advisory Board will host a Community Town Hall Forum with the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office on Tuesday, July 28, from 6-8 p.m. in the West Hollywood Council Chambers, 625 N. San Vicente Blvd.
The forum will focus on issues impacting the LGBTQ+ community. The event aims to strengthen trust, improve communication and address issues uniquely impacting LGBTQ+ individuals in West Hollywood, and across Los Angeles County.
Los Angeles County District Attorney Nathan Hochman and members of the Los Angeles District Attorney’s LGBTQ+ Advisory Board will speak to attendees. Hochman was sworn in as the 44th district attorney of Los Angeles County in December 2024. He has focused on improving public safety by pursuing appropriate sentences for violent and serious offenders, while offering counseling and rehabilitation to those whose crimes were motivated by addiction or mental illness. Hochman’s office maintained the District Attorney’s Office’s LGBTQ+ Advisory Board, which provides input on policies, safety and best practices regarding LGBTQ+ individuals. The forum enables the District Attorney’s Office to meet community members in person, outline current priorities and listen to residents.
The forum is co-sponsored by the Los Angeles LGBT Center and the Williams Institute. The Los Angeles LGBT Center is the largest LGBTQ+ organization in the world, offering LGBTQ+ individuals and families programs, services and advocacy efforts that span health, social services, housing, culture, education and leadership.
The Williams Institute, founded in 2001, is the leading research center on sexual orientation and gender identity law and public policy. Its mission is to disseminate research to ensure crucial decisions impacting millions of LGBTQ+ people and families are based on data and facts, not stereotypes.
No advance registration is required to attend the forum. Attendees can submit questions at the event. For information, visit weho.org.
