L.A.’s premier oceanfront resort Terranea is offering a traditional Chinese New Year experience with its Chef’s Table Dinner Series and themed menu on Monday, Feb. 8 at 6 p.m. Terranea executive chef Bernard Ibarra will prepare a multi-course menu with braised young abalone with ginger and cilantro, crisp noodle wrapped Santa Barbara spot prawns and stewed wagyu beef and lobster clay pots. Chinese New Year Night Market
WP24 by Wolfgang Puck, located atop The Ritz-Carlton downtown, rings in Chinese New Year on Tuesday, Feb. 9 with a one-night-only event. Prior to dinner, guests can explore the “Night Market” display with food stations and lion dancers. Afterwards, enjoy a three-course menu curated by chef de cuisine John Lechleidner. The event marks the start of the restaurant’s Lunar New Year celebration from Feb. 10 through Feb. 19. Executive chef Shane Pritchett from New Orleans worked at two of Emeril Lagasse’s restaurants before joining Messhall. On Tuesday, Feb 9, he is preparing an authentic shrimp boil with corn, sausages and mushrooms served on newspaper. Salt & Straw, a small-batch ice cream purveyor known for an artisanal, chef-driven approach, offers an “L.A. Chocolatiers” series throughout February in observance of Valentine’s Day.
