The city of West Hollywood recognizes September as National Preparedness Month and is raising awareness about the importance of preparing for disasters and emergencies.
With anticipated El Niño conditions and the potential for increased weather variability and significant precipitation events, the city is stressing the importance of remaining prepared and taking appropriate precautions.
West Hollywood encourages community members to create an emergency preparedness plan with family and neighbors, and don’t forget to include family pets. An emergency preparedness plan can help everyone to stay safe and communicate during and after disasters or emergencies.
The federal government’s website at ready.gov has a step-by-step plan to help prepare for any emergency. Make sure you know where to get information and download the FEMA App for emergency safety alerts. Residents should also create an emergency kit to last for several days.
