Characters and costumes from HBO’s “The Gilded Age” will take floral form at Greystone Mansion & Gardens from Oct. 28-Nov. 4, when Fleurs de Villes brings an exhibition of fresh-flower mannequins to the Beverly Hills estate. Tickets are now on sale.
Fleurs de Villes “The Gilded Age” will feature floral mannequins inspired by characters, costumes and settings from the HBO series. Beverly Hills floral designers will create the installations using thousands of fresh flowers.
The designs will interpret characters including Bertha Russell, Agnes van Rhijn, Marian Brook and Peggy Scott. The exhibition will combine floral design with fashion and elements inspired by the historical period depicted in the television series.
Visitors will also be able to vote for their favorite floral mannequin, watch live demonstrations by local floral designers and explore the grounds of Greystone Mansion & Gardens.
“We’re delighted to bring Fleurs de Villes ‘The Gilded Age’ to the magnificent Greystone Mansion & Gardens,” Fleurs de Villes co-founder Karen Marshall said. “The elegance and grandeur of this remarkable estate provide the perfect backdrop for our floral celebration. We’re excited to see Beverly Hills’ talented floral designers transform these iconic characters into spectacular works of art created entirely from fresh flowers.”
Beverly Hills Mayor Craig Corman said the exhibition brings together the estate’s history with floral art.
“There are few experiences that so exceptionally blend beauty, history and creativity together,” Corman said. “This is truly the perfect partnership, and we look forward to welcoming guests to the iconic Greystone Mansion & Gardens.”
Beverly Hills will be the fourth stop on a six-location national tour of historic estates and gardens. Fleurs de Villes has previously produced floral exhibitions tied to entertainment properties, including a “Downton Abbey” collaboration.
Greystone Mansion was completed in 1928 for the Doheny family. The city of Beverly Hills purchased the estate in 1965 and dedicated it as a public park in 1971.
Fleurs de Villes “The Gilded Age” will run for eight days at Greystone Mansion & Gardens, 905 Loma Vista Drive. For information and tickets, visit fleursdevilles.com/beverly-hills.
