The Elizabeth Taylor AIDS Foundation will host its annual Elizabeth Taylor Night of Compassion on September 17 at The Beverly Hills Hotel.
ETAF will honor Emmy and Tony Award-winning actor, activist and fashion icon Billy Porter with The Elizabeth Taylor Legacy Award, recognizing his advocacy and commitment to the LGBTQ+ community and communities impacted by HIV/AIDS.
Vanity Fair will also be awarded The Elizabeth Taylor Commitment to End AIDS Award, recognizing the publication’s decades-long history of using its platform to advance HIV/AIDS awareness and LGBTQ+ advocacy.
“ETAF is honored to celebrate Billy Porter and Vanity Fair at this year’s Elizabeth Taylor Night of Compassion. Both have used their platforms to raise awareness, inspire change and stand up for communities affected by HIV and AIDS. At a time when so many people living with and at risk of HIV are facing uncertainty, their voices, advocacy and support are more important than ever. We are proud to recognize their commitment and to continue Elizabeth’s legacy of compassion and action,” said Catherine Brown, Executive Director, The Elizabeth Taylor AIDS Foundation.
CNN’s Laura Coates will host the evening, with a performance by Grammy- and Tony-nominated singer and actress Deborah Cox, and a preview of items from The Elizabeth Taylor Archive.
