Crews are working on the D Line Subway Extension Project from Wilshire/La Cienega to the Westwood/VA Hospital Station.
Passengers can currently ride the D Line subway between Wilshire/La Cienega and Union Station. Work is ongoing on the other segments of the line heading west through Beverly Hills, Century City and Westwood.
Lane closures are planned for final repaving on Wilshire Boulevard, between La Cienega Boulevard and Willaman Drive, on Saturday, Sept. 25, at 8 a.m. through Monday, Sept. 28, at 6 a.m. Wilshire Boulevard will be reduced to one lane in each direction between La Cienega Boulevard and Willaman Drive on Sept. 25 from 8 a.m-6 p.m. Additional work is planned from Saturday, Sept. 26, at 6 a.m. through Monday, Sept. 28, at 6 a.m. The repaving work will take place in two phases. During phase one, work will occur in the curb lanes, and driveways along Wilshire Boulevard may be temporarily impacted. During phase two, the center lanes will be repaved.
Wilshire Boulevard may also be intermittently reduced to a single lane in each direction between San Vicente and La Cienega boulevards from 9 a.m.-4 p.m., weekdays; and 7 a.m.-6 p.m., weekends.
Curb ramp replacement is also occurring on the northwest and southwest sides of Wilshire and La Cienega boulevards. Signed pedestrian detours will be implemented when sidewalks are closed due to construction.
Crews are also working at the Beverly Drive Station, with street-level construction between Beverly and Crescent drives. Two lanes in each direction remain open on Wilshire Boulevard in the area.
Work is ongoing through Oct. 2 on sidewalk ramps, curbs and gutters on the southeast and southwest corners of El Camino Drive and Wilshire Boulevard. Construction includes ramp demolition, concrete pouring and sidewalk grading. Flaggers will guide drivers around the work zones.
Through Oct. 7, material and equipment deliveries and removal, utility maintenance services and concrete pouring are ongoing on Wilshire Boulevard between Carson Road and Willaman Drive. The work supports ongoing station construction and primarily takes place during the day. Intermittent work is expected at night. Lanes closures will be implemented in phases to minimize traffic impacts.
At the Century City Station, construction is ongoing behind K-rail enclosures. Work is occurring on the station roof and appendage structures, which are underground rooms and passageways adjacent to the main station. Through Nov. 11, a sidewalk closure is in place along the north sidewalk of Constellation Boulevard from Avenue of the Stars to the Westfield shopping mall ADA ramp. Backfill operations for the station are also ongoing in late September above the station’s concrete roof structure.
At the Westwood/UCLA Station, construction is ongoing through Dec. 31 on the Wilshire Boulevard station entrances. Work includes drilling for an elevator casing at the southeast entrance. Eastbound Wilshire Boulevard will be closed between Gayley Avenue and Westwood Boulevard. All westbound lanes will remain open.
Eastbound traffic will be diverted to Santa Monica Boulevard via Sepulveda Boulevard or Veteran Avenue and back to Wilshire Boulevard via Westwood Boulevard.
At the Westwood/VA Hospital Station, Bonsall Avenue restoration continues through Oct. 25. The work requires lane reductions and alternating ramp closures to and from Wilshire Boulevard.
