The Los Angeles Police Department is searching for suspects in separate unrelated break-ins which took place on Sept. 9 and Sept. 10 at residences in the Hollywood Hills, including a suspect who allegedly broke into a home belonging to director Quentin Tarantino.
LAPD spokesman Kevin Terzes confirmed police received a call around 12:20 p.m. on Sept. 9 about a burglary in progress at a residence in the 7400 block of Woodrow Wilson Drive, but he could not confirm who owns or lives in the home. Multiple media outlets reported the home belongs to Tarantino.
Terzes said someone in the residence called police to report a male suspect entered the house, which is located in a residential neighborhood on the west side of the Cahuenga Pass. The suspect fled by the time officers arrived and there was no report of any property being stolen, Terzes said. Officers took a report for trespassing. The suspect was approximately 35 years old and was wearing black clothing, he said.
A separate home invasion robbery occurred around 12:05 a.m. on Sept. 10 in the 8500 block of Hedges Way, a residential street in the hills north of the Sunset Strip and West Hollywood. Police received a call about five men who broke into a home and robbed a victim at gunpoint, Terzes said. The men fled in a dark colored Jeep and the victim called police. Officers searched the surrounding area but were unable to locate the vehicle and suspects. Terzes said three of the suspects are Black, one is Latino and the other white. He did not know what property was taken.
Police do not believe the two incidents are connected. The crimes are being investigated by the LAPD’s Hollywood Division. Detectives are searching for security camera footage in an attempt to identify the suspects. Anyone with information is urged to call the Hollywood Division at (213)972-2971. During weekends and off-hours, call the LAPD’s hotline at (877)LAPD247.
