Kidspace Children’s Museum is conjuring a season of playful Halloween fun, with the family celebration returning through Oct. 31.
Families are invited to join rollicking costume parades, create a friendly monster to take home, mix up a magical elixir and enjoy a day brimming with hands-on imaginative play and family memories.
“Halloween is a season that invites kids to explore their imagination and dream of what’s possible,” Kidspace CEO Lisa Clements said. “At Kidspace, we provide the space and freedom to turn those big ideas into joyful play and hands-on experiences that families can enjoy together.”
Kidspace Halloween thrills create magical memories all season long, including daily costume parades at 11 a.m., 1 p.m. and 3 p.m. Adopt-a-Monster Workshop allows participants to design and take home delightfully silly or spooky sidekicks. Mix up magical potions in the Witch’s Kitchen with a pinch of dragon scales, a drop of unicorn tears and a dash of hocus pocus. Go “boo-ling” for strikes in Pumpkin Bowling, where every roll is a scream. The Halloween House allows children to take a trike for a spin around the track and through a spooky Halloween house.
The spooky season also includes special events such as the 33rd annual Pasadena Chalk Festival from Sept. 26-27 at Brookside Park outside Kidspace. Watch artists transform the pavement, enjoy live DJ music and food trucks and stop by Kidspace for a free chalk art activation, Kidspace is open 10 a.m.-5 p.m. on both days of the chalk festival.
Starting Sept. 22, Kidspace is holding Toddler Tuesdays. With older children back in school, enjoy a special morning for the littlest guests with select play spaces adapted for toddlers. Make mud potions, create art with a painted broom and join a special toddler Halloween story time. Little ones can also march and dance in a toddler-sized Halloween Parade. Special activities take place on Tuesdays from 10 a.m.-noon with the Halloween Parade at 11 a.m. and story time at 11:30 a.m.
Additional events include the LEGO Monster Build on Oct. 3-4; the Owl-o-ween Member Event on Oct. 16; and a Halloween Party on Oct. 30. The nonprofit Kidspace is located at 480 N. Arroyo Blvd., in Pasadena. For information, visit kidspace.org.
