Cedars-Sinai will honor the creative team behind the HBO Max medical drama “The Pitt” during its Sunset Soirée on Oct. 11 at the Warner Bros. Studio Lot in Burbank.
Star and executive producer Noah Wyle, executive producer and director John Wells and creator and showrunner R. Scott Gemmill will receive the Hollywood Leadership Award. Cedars-Sinai said the honor recognizes the series’ portrayal of emergency medicine and its depiction of the experiences of health care workers.
Philanthropists and community leaders Jaime and Andrew Schwartzberg will also be recognized with the Philanthropic Leadership Award for their support of Cedars-Sinai.
The Cedars-Sinai Board of Governors event is expected to draw more than 750 guests and will raise money for the organization’s Innovation to Impact campaign, a $60 million initiative supporting early-stage research in children’s health, cancer, neurosciences, autoimmune diseases and metabolic diseases and aging.
The campaign also supports the use of single-cell technology, which allows researchers to examine individual cells as they study the causes and progression of disease.
“We’re excited to honor the incredible team behind ‘The Pitt,’ celebrating the power of storytelling and philanthropy to inspire meaningful change,” Cedars-Sinai President and CEO Dr. Peter L. Slavin said. “Through their commitment to raising awareness about healthcare and emergency medicine both on and off screen, the team behind ‘The Pitt’ is helping shine a light on the importance of lifesaving care and the breakthroughs that make it possible. We’re also deeply grateful to Jaime and Andrew Schwartzberg for their generosity and longstanding commitment to Cedars-Sinai, alongside their extraordinary leadership and wide-reaching impact across the Los Angeles community beyond our hospital walls. Their dedication to our mission helps advance groundbreaking research and brings new possibilities in healthcare within reach.”
The evening will include presentations, a live auction and a performance by singer-songwriter Andy Grammer. Grammer is scheduled to release his sixth studio album, “Big Stupid Heart,” on Oct. 16. Beverly Hills restaurant Steak 48 will also host a pop-up dining experience during the event.
“The Pitt,” produced by John Wells Productions, R. Scott Gemmill Productions and Warner Bros. Television, follows doctors, nurses and other staff members working in the emergency department of a Pittsburgh hospital. The series won the Emmy Award for outstanding drama series in 2026, while Wyle won outstanding lead actor in a drama series.
The series is scheduled to return for a third season on HBO Max in January 2027, according to Cedars-Sinai.
