Descanso Gardens welcomes guests back for “Carved,” an annual fall tradition, running from Oct. 2 through Nov. 1.

“Carved” includes hundreds of jack-o’-lanterns, oversized carved pumpkins and immersive lighting throughout the Garden, along with longtime favorites and a standout new addition.

New this year, “Carved” welcomes celebrated Helsinki-based artist Alexander Reichstein, whose intricately built wire sculptures will populate the Garden’s labyrinth.

“We could not be more excited to welcome Alexander Reichstein to Descanso Gardens this year,” Descanso Gardens CEO Juliann Rooke said. “His sculptures are extraordinarily intricate up close, built by hand from wire, one delicate line at a time. They’re lovely to walk through in daylight, and after dark, when they’re fully illuminated against the Garden, they’re nothing short of spectacular.”

As evening sets in, the Garden’s paths come alive with lit jack-o’-lanterns, oversized hand-carved pumpkins and art installations tucked around every corner. The Pumpkin Forest and Harvest Acres return with new touches, and the Descanso Railroad gets seasonal lighting treatment. Chainsaw Jenna’s log sculptures, ghosts and witches carved from massive logs, are back, and Bobolito’s Rhizome, a longtime crowd pleaser, relocates this year to the more dramatic backdrop of the Oak Grove.

For the first time, Carved will also host a Halloween-night Trick-or-Treat event on Oct. 31, included with regular admission that evening.

Tickets are $65 for members; $85 for non-members. The flexible, date-free option lets guests lock in a price now and pick an evening later.

Timed tickets are $22-$45 for adult members, $12-$30 for children of members; $29-$52 for non-member adults and $19-$37 for children of non-member adults, depending on the date and time selected. Children ages 2 and under are free but still require a ticket.
