Babst Gallery presents “Dancing in the Pocket,” a solo exhibition of new works by Gabriel Slavitt running from Thursday, Sept. 24, through Saturday, Nov. 7. The exhibition’s title “Dancing in the Pocket” is a term used by NFL commentators to describe the intricate footwork of a quarterback within the protected space created by the offensive line. For Slavitt, the moment is psychological as much as physical: complete engagement between mind and body, person and environment, synthesizing analysis and technique. They are reflected in Slavitt’s subject matter as well as his creative technique. Hours are noon-5 p.m., Tuesday-Saturday, and by appointment. 413 S. Fairfax Ave. babstgallery.com.
