With high temperatures continuing across Southern California, West Hollywood has extended hours at its cooling center at Plummer Park on Thursday, Aug. 27, and Friday, Aug. 28, from 10 a.m.-5 p.m.

The cooling center is located at the Plummer Park Community Center Senior Lounge, 7377 Santa Monica Blvd. It is activated when temperatures rise to 90 degrees or higher. Staff members at Plummer Park are available to direct people to the cooling center.

West Hollywood provides free transportation to Plummer Park through the Cityline service, which operates Monday through Saturday from 9 a.m.-6 p.m. Shuttles arrive approximately every 30 minutes,

The city of Los Angeles has also activated cooling centers through Friday, Aug. 28. Hours are 10 a.m.-9 p.m. In the local area, a cooling center is located at the Pan Pacific Senior Activity Center at 141 S. Gardner Ave. Local library branches also serve as cooling centers.
