Applications are being accepted through Friday, Aug. 21, for the city of Beverly Hills’ Team Beverly Hills program, which gives residents an inside look at local government operations.
Founded in 1996, the program offers participants a series of interactive class sessions exploring how city departments operate. Participants receive behind-the-scenes access to departments including public works, emergency management, information technology, community services and public safety.
According to the city, more than 800 residents have completed the program since it began. More than 70% of the city’s current elected officials and commissioners are Team Beverly Hills alumni.
The upcoming class will include 50 residents, with 30 appointed by the Beverly Hills City Council, 18 selected through a random lottery and two selected by the Beverly Hills Unified School District. Additionally, five members of the city’s business community, appointed by the City Council, will participate in the program.
The program begins in October and continues through March.
Applications and additional information are available at beverlyhills.org/teambeverlyhills or by emailing teambh@beverlyhills.org.
