Film lovers have until July 26 to view “Jaws: The Exhibition,” the Academy Museum’s first large-scale exhibition dedicated to a single film and the largest exhibition ever mounted showcasing Universal Pictures’ landmark summer blockbuster, which earned three Academy Awards and was nominated for Best Picture.
“Jaws: The Exhibition” translates Steven Spielberg’s 1975 movie into a museum experience for audiences of all ages. It revisits the film scene by scene and features interactive components, behind-the-scenes stories and more than 200 original objects, many of which have never been publicly displayed. Each exhibition section includes materials from the personal collections of Steven Spielberg and the Amblin Hearth Archive, the NBCUniversal Archives & Collections and the vast Academy Collection.
“Jaws: The Exhibition” is organized by senior exhibitions curator Jenny He and assistant curator Emily Rauber Rodriguez, with curatorial assistant Alexandra James Salichs. The Academy Museum exhibition galleries and store are open six days a week from 10 a.m-6 p.m. and are closed on Tuesdays. The Academy Museum is located at 6067 Wilshire Blvd. For information, visit academymuseum.org.
