Los Angeles Mayor Richard Riordan presented a proclamation to L.A. Gay and Lesbian Center CEO Lorri Jean in this photograph in the July 25, 1996, issue of the Beverly Press and Park Labrea News. The proclamation was awarded in celebration of the center’s 25th anniversary. Now known as the Los Angeles LGBT Center, the nonprofit is the largest LGBTQ+ organization in the world, offering comprehensive health care, HIV treatment and testing, legal services and housing referrals, as well as leadership and advocacy.
