Heidi Duckler Dance will premiere “Cry Wolf,” an immersive, evening-length dance performance inspired by the classic fables “The Three Little Pigs” and “The Boy Who Cried Wolf,” on Saturday, Aug. 1, at 7:30 p.m. at the Jeffrey Deitch Gallery in West Hollywood.

The production invites audiences to move through the gallery’s multi-level courtyard, where dance, music and lighting transform the space into a series of environments inspired by the materials of straw, wood and brick. According to the company, each setting explores how systems of trust, communication and protection can break down and be rebuilt.

“Cry Wolf” reimagines familiar stories through a contemporary lens, using the wolf as a symbol of threat, fear and consequence. The performance examines themes of vulnerability, preparedness and stability while encouraging audiences to reflect on how individuals and communities respond to uncertainty.

The immersive format is designed to blur the boundary between performance and lived experience, with audience members moving throughout the venue as the work unfolds.
