The Walk of Fame hub at Hollywood and Highland will feature a World Cup Finals viewing party.

Due to the major water main break in West Hollywood, the CicLAvia-Meet the Hollywoods route map has been updated.

On the west side, the route will now end at La Cienega Boulevard.  The West Hollywood Hub will now be located at 8491 Santa Monica Blvd.

Thousands of bicyclists will pedal along Hollywood and Santa Monica boulevards on Sunday, July 19, during CicLAvia-Meet the Hollywoods, which will open the streets of Tinseltown and West Hollywood for a day of car-free recreation.

All alternative modes of transportation are welcome, as well as pedestrians, with the caveat that all devices must be people-powered. It marks the fourth time the nonprofit has held CicLAvia in Hollywood and West Hollywood (previous versions were held in 2019, 2022 and 2024), and each of the earlier events attracted tens of thousands of people. Organizers are expecting it to be an even bigger party this time, as the World Cup Final begins at noon. A public watch party will be held at the Walk of Fame hub at Hollywood Boulevard and Highland Avenue, and the soccer match will be shown in numerous venues along the route.

“We’re so excited to be back to CicLAvia-Meet the Hollywoods for the fourth time,” CicLAvia Executive Director Romel Pascual said. “With the world’s attention on Los Angeles as we prepare to host the 2028 Olympics, there’s no better way to showcase the city’s connectivity, creativity and vibrant neighborhoods. This route links West Hollywood, the Hollywood Walk of Fame and East Hollywood, putting some of L.A.’s most iconic destinations on display. As the World Cup comes to a close, we will also bring fans together with a community watch party, celebrating the tournament and the spirit of Los Angeles on our open streets.”

CicLAvia-Meet the Hollywoods runs from 9 a.m.-4 p.m. on July 19. The route extends along Hollywood Boulevard between Sunset Boulevard and Highland Avenue, on Highland Avenue between Hollywood and Santa Monica boulevards, and on Santa Monica Boulevard between Highland Avenue and San Vicente Boulevard. Hubs – where dismounting and walking is mandatory – offer convenient places to stop along the route for activities, restrooms, free water refilling stations and free basic bike repair. The West Hollywood hub is located on Santa Monica Boulevard east of San Vicente Boulevard; the Plummer Park hub is located on Santa Monica Boulevard at Martel Avenue; the Walk of Fame hub is on Hollywood Boulevard at Highland Avenue; and the East Hollywood hub is located on Hollywood Boulevard just west of Virgil and Hillhurst avenues. A “pit stop” with water, restrooms and free basic bike repairs will also be located on Hollywood Boulevard near Wilton Place.

CicLAvia was first held in Los Angeles in 2010 and modeled after Bogotá, Colombia’s weekly ciclovía. Four to six times a year, the nonprofit CicLAvia holds the car-free events in different parts of the city. CicLAvia Chief Strategist Tafarai Bayne said the Meet the Hollywoods event is among the largest, given that it’s held in the entertainment capital of the world.

“Being one of the busiest parts of our region, connecting West Hollywood to East Hollywood through the heart of Hollywood is a great way to bring together so many different cultural enclaves of L.A.,” Bayne said. “It is one of our favorite routes to do, and has so much character.”

Bayne added that people can expect a fun experience that stresses togetherness.

“First and foremost, you do not have to have a bike to attend this event. You can come on your feet, you can come on a skateboard, you can come on skates, you can come on a scooter – a foot-powered scooter, of course. We have all kinds of different ways you can participate. We even have pedicabs if you want to just come and hang out and take a pedicab around. And we do have bike rentals available.”

Bayne said CicLAvia partners with Metro on the event, as well as the cities of Los Angeles and West Hollywood.

“As CicLAvia rolls into West Hollywood, we’re thrilled for our city and the broader Southern California community to share in the joy of connecting in new and unique ways while enjoying all that the iconic Santa Monica Boulevard has to offer,” West Hollywood Mayor John Heilman said. “Unique businesses, creative public art, a bustling Russian community and the vibrant Rainbow District are all ready to welcome CicLAvia participants to the city of West Hollywood.”

City Councilman Hugo Soto-Martinez, who represents Hollywood and East Hollywood. “We’ll also be screening the World Cup Final live at the event, so it’s shaping up to be an unforgettable day in Hollywood.”

CicLAvia participants are encouraged to visit local businesses and attractions along the route. Many businesses are offering CicLAvia specials to welcome riders.
