Construction on sections two and three of Metro’s D Line extension project continues in Beverly Hills, Century City and Westwood in June. Crews are working on the Beverly Drive and Century City stations ahead of the planned opening of section two in spring 2027. Section three, which includes the Westwood/UCLA and VA Hospital stations, is scheduled for completion in fall 2027.
Street level restoration work remains ongoing at select locations along Wilshire Boulevard near the Wilshire/La Cienega Station, and lane closures may be in place. The work includes ramp and curb replacement.
In Beverly Hills, work is ongoing at and around the Beverly Drive Station. Crews are working underground on the station and at street level behind K-rail barriers. Two lanes of Wilshire Boulevard remain open in each direction through the construction area. However, left turns are restricted in the area.
Crews are also working along the south sidewalk of Wilshire Boulevard through July 11 from South Beverly Drive to El Camino Drive. Work will be completed in segments requiring sidewalk closures. Pedestrians are detoured to a temporary pathway adjacent to the existing sidewalk, and access to business entrances will be maintained throughout the work.
In Century City, crews are building the subway station and conducting road work near Constellation Boulevard and Avenue of the Stars. A sidewalk closure will be implemented along the north side of Constellation Boulevard from Avenue of the Stars to the Westfield shopping mall ADA ramp. The construction zone will end at the east side of the ramp, and access to the ramp will be maintained just east of the crosswalk at Solar Way. Driveway access on Constellation Boulevard to the Westfield shopping mall and 1999 Avenue of the Stars will remain open during the work. The crosswalks at Avenue of the Stars and Constellation Boulevard and at Solar Way will remain open to maintain pedestrian detour access. However, the adjacent sidewalk will remain closed through Nov. 11.
Construction on the Westwood/UCLA Station is also ongoing in June. Crews are building the station entrances and working underground on the station. Lane reductions may be required on Wilshire Boulevard from west of Veteran Avenue to Westwood Boulevard, and sidewalks on Wilshire and Westwood boulevards may be closed.
