Los Angeles High School on Olympic Boulevard was placed on lockdown on June 10 after a road rage incident between two groups of juveniles occurred on a street outside the campus and some of the individuals ran onto school grounds, police said.

The incident occurred around 8:10 a.m. in the 1100 block of West Boulevard, which runs along the eastern side of the L.A. High campus. Two groups of juveniles were involved in a road rage incident and one of the juveniles allegedly brandished a handgun, Los Angeles Police Department spokesman Jeff Lee said.

After some of the juveniles ran onto the campus, the school was locked down. Students were kept inside classrooms until shortly after noon.

Lee said one of the individuals was detained immediately after police arrived, and two others were arrested later during a search of the surrounding neighborhood. Authorities were still searching for a fourth suspect as of press time and the investigation was ongoing, Lee added.

He did not know whether a handgun was found, if all of the individuals involved were students at L.A. High School or if police impounded the vehicles that were involved in the road rage incident. No injuries were reported. Lee added that more information may become available after the investigation concludes.
