The Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority is advising about ongoing work on sections two and three of the D Line Extension Project in Beverly Hills.
Through the end of May, crews are completing street restoration work around the Wilshire/La Cienega Station. Farther west, work is ongoing around the Beverly Drive Station in Beverly Hills, as well as the Century City Station.
Underground construction and street-level work on Wilshire Boulevard is occurring at the Beverly Drive Station. K-rail enclosures remain in place between Beverly and Crescent drives. Two lanes remain open in each direction on Wilshire Boulevard through the construction area. Left turns are restricted in the area.
Crews will conduct demolition, curb, gutter, underground electrical and sidewalk restoration work through July 11 along the south side of Wilshire Boulevard between Beverly and El Camino drives. Work hours are 7 a.m.-4 p.m., and 8 p.m.-4:30 a.m. Sidewalk closures may be in place around the work sites. Pedestrians will be detoured to a temporary pathway adjacent to the existing sidewalk, and access to business entrances will be maintained.
Similar infrastructure and street restoration work continues through June 26 on the south side of Wilshire Boulevard between Reeves and Beverly drives. Pedestrian access along Wilshire Boulevard, and to 9454 Wilshire Blvd., will be maintained via a protected pedestrian walkway adjacent to the existing sidewalk.
Deck removal work is complete at the Century City station. Crews are continuing work on the subway station behind k-rail enclosures. The work includes the construction of appendages, which are rooms and passageways adjacent to the main station, requiring temporary sidewalk closures and single-lane traffic operations with flagging in place for westbound and eastbound traffic on Constellation Boulevard.
Crews are also working overnight to remove underground equipment on Constellation Boulevard between Century Park West and Avenue of the Stars. Work is scheduled to take place overnight on June 1 and June 2, from 9 p.m.-6 a.m. Constellation Boulevard will be closed between Century Park West and Avenue of the Stars.
The work includes the removal of underground sensors used to monitor earlier stages of construction. Conducting the operation overnight with a full road closure will allow for the work to be completed faster than daytime work using individual lane closures.
Turning lanes into the work zone from Century Park West and Avenue of the Stars will be restricted. Solar Way will also be closed to traffic, and traffic on Westbound Constellation Boulevard toward Avenue of the Stars will be routed north or south at Avenue of the Stars.
Construction on the future Westwood/UCLA Station is also ongoing. Construction of the northeast and southeast station entrances will continue through May 2027. Work will occur from 5 a.m.-4 p.m. and 9 p.m.-6 a.m., Monday through Saturday. Additional lane closures may be implemented.
The work will construct the final Westwood/UCLA Station entrances and will require lane reductions on eastbound and westbound Wilshire Boulevard, from west of Veteran Avenue to Westwood Boulevard. Sidewalks on Wilshire and Westwood boulevards may be closed during the work.
