U.S. Rep. Ted W. Lieu (D-Los Angeles County) recently announced that he secured $13.7 million in federal funding for 14 local projects in the 36th Congressional District. The federal funding for community projects will support efforts to improve infrastructure, protect the environment, strengthen public safety and reduce homelessness. In the local area, Lieu secured $1.09 million for the city of Beverly Hills’ Water Reliability Project, and $850,000 for the Los Angeles Housing Department’s Sepulveda Hotel to Homes project.

The funds for the Beverly Hills Water Reliability Project will support the replacement of an abandoned 800,000-gallon reservoir – out of service since 1986 – with a new 250,000-gallon forebay and pump station designed to meet the needs of the community. The project will significantly enhance water supply reliability for residents, improve operational efficiency and support compliance with water quality standards.

Sepulveda Hotel to Homes project will transform a former extended-stay hotel into 120 units of permanent, supportive housing for unhoused individuals.

The allocation also includes funds for projects in Santa Monica, Culver City, El Segundo, Manhattan Beach, Hermosa Beach, Redondo Beach, Torrance, Rancho Palos Verdes, the Palos Verdes Peninsula Unified School District and Rolling Hills Estates. For information, visit lieu.house.gov.
