LA’s BEST is offering summer programs to help children keep learning, growing and building momentum for the next school year.
The high-quality summer program from Friday, June 15-July 24 (no program on June 19 or July 3) helps prevent summer learning loss and gives students a strong head start through hands-on activities, games and the support of trained, caring adults. The program is offered at select LAUSD elementary schools. For a list of participating schools, visit lasbest.org/programs/summer.
The program generally runs approximately six to eight hours, providing a full day of activities. Program hours vary depending on whether the school is offering summer school. Hours at non-summer school sites are 8 a.m.-6 p.m., and noon to 6 p.m. at summer school sites. If your child is not enrolled in summer school, select an LA’s BEST program at a non-summer school site. If your child is enrolled in summer school, they must attend the LA’s BEST program at their summer school site.
If a school is hosting morning summer school classes, students must be enrolled in that school’s morning summer school classes to attend LA’s BEST at that site in the afternoon. Families who do not wish to enroll in morning summer school classes may apply to attend LA’s BEST at another participating school that is offering only the LA’s BEST summer program.
