The 20th Annual Los Angeles Jewish Film Festival kicked off on May 12 at the Saban Theatre with a star-studded opening night gala in Beverly Hills featuring the world premiere screening for “The Hollywood Rabbi,” an inspiring documentary about Rabbi Marvin Hier.

Simon Wiesenthal Center, Museum of Tolerance founder and a two-time Academy Award-winning filmmaker, Rabbi Hier was honored at the gala opening night event that celebrated the 20th anniversary for the Los Angeles Jewish Film Festival.

“The Hollywood Rabbi” is directed by Jon Kean and produced by Brad Krevoy and Susie Krevoy. The film features appearances by Arnold Schwarzenegger, Bill Clinton, Steven Spielberg, Billy Crystal, Gavin Newsom, Ted Sarandos and Jeffrey Katzenberg.

Additional screenings include the L.A. premiere of “Influenced” with an in-person Q&A session on Saturday, May 16 at 7 p.m. at the Laemmle Royal in Santa Monica, and the closing night screening of “Hold On To Your Music” at the Museum of Tolerance on Tuesday, May 19.
