Marciano Art Foundation announced details for upcoming programming this spring. Opening in the library at MAF will be the exhibition “Magdalena Suarez Frimkess: Ninety-six and Pissed,” on view from May 6 through July 18. The exhibition will present more than 30 new drawings that are placed in dialogue with the artist’s earlier iconic drawing “Wonder Woman” (2007) and a selection of hand-built ceramic sculptures.

Additionally, current exhibitions “Bruce Conner/Recording Angel” and “John Giorno: No Nostalgia” will remain on view through July 18. 

On May 20, Douglas Fogle, curator of the Bruce Conner exhibition, will be in conversation with recording artist and choreographer Toni Basil, who stars in Conner’s iconic work “Breakaway” (1966). The duo will discuss Basil’s collaborations with Conner and other artists across her multi-decade career as a revolutionary dance innovator.
