Rosewood STEM Magnet will host the Summer of Learning Program from June 22-July 20, providing students with an engaging opportunity to strengthen academic skills while participating in enriching summer activities.
The program helps students maintain and build upon skills in reading, writing and mathematics while engaging in hands-on learning experiences aligned with Rosewood’s STEM and Urban Planning magnet themes. Through collaborative projects and interactive lessons, students learn in a fun, supportive environment that encourages creativity, curiosity and critical thinking.
Summer learning programs are an important way to help students stay academically engaged and avoid the “summer slide,” where learning loss occurs during long breaks from school, Rosewood STEM Magnet Principal Linda Kaye-Crowder said. With structured summer learning, students return to school more confident and prepared for academic success.
“Providing meaningful summer learning opportunities helps ensure that students remain engaged and continue to grow academically,” Kaye-Crowder said. “Our Summer of Learning program allows students to strengthen foundational skills while enjoying interactive learning experiences with their peers.”
In addition to Rosewood STEM Magnet’s academic instruction, LA’s BEST will offer programs on the Rosewood campus including enrichment activities, recreation and additional supervision after the instructional day. Rosewood STEM Magnet is committed to providing innovative educational opportunities that support the success of every student during the school year and throughout the summer. The school is located at 503 Croft Ave. For information about the Summer of Learning program, call the Rosewood STEM Magnet’s main office at (323)651-0166.
