Crews continue to work on streets around the D Line subway stations in February as Metro moves closer to opening the first segment of the new subway line. Metro plans to open the first segment from Wilshire/Western to Wilshire/La Cienega in the first quarter of 2026. Street restoration work is ongoing around the Wilshire/La Cienega and Beverly Drive stations.
In February, restoration work continues on the medians to the east and west of the intersection of Wilshire Boulevard and Tower Drive. Two lanes will remain open on eastbound Wilshire Boulevard between La Cienega and San Vicente boulevards. Westbound Wilshire Boulevard will be reduced to two lanes between San Vicente Boulevard and North Hamilton Drive.
Curb and gutter replacement will occur on the north and south sides of Wilshire Boulevard in February between La Cienega Boulevard and Stanley Drive. Curb ramps at Le Doux Road and Stanley Drive will be replaced with new ramps. To facilitate the work, Wilshire Boulevard may be reduced to one or two lanes for two- to three-week periods. The closures will be implemented on individual blocks of Wilshire Boulevard between La Cienega Boulevard and Carson Road.
Through Feb. 17, crews will be constructing a new curb and gutter along westbound Wilshire Boulevard and removing the existing bus pad between La Cienega Boulevard and Le Doux Road. Westbound Wilshire Boulevard will be intermittently reduced to one or two lanes between Gale Drive and Le Doux Road.
Farther west, work continues at and around the Beverly Drive station. Through Feb. 20, sidewalk restoration is ongoing between Crescent and Beverly drives. Temporary lane and sidewalk closures will be in place to support material and equipment delivery, deck removal and street restoration. The work is anticipated to run from 8 a.m.-9 p.m.
K-rail enclosures remain in place along the north and south curb lanes of Wilshire Boulevard near Cañon Drive in February, and two lanes remain open on Wilshire Boulevard in each direction between Beverly and Crescent drives. Left turns will be restricted from westbound Wilshire Boulevard to South Cañon Drive.
Work is also ongoing on the Century City station. Potholing activities for upcoming pile installation are ongoing through Feb. 20 on Constellation Boulevard.
