The Los Angeles County Superior Court has started a multi-phased launch of electronic filing, known as efiling, in the Criminal and Juvenile Justice divisions, starting with the Los Angeles County Probation Department. The Probation Department now has the ability to electronically file court-ordered probation reports, streamlining communication and enhancing the maintenance of easily accessible records.
The efiling process is a simple and streamlined method for filing, allowing the department to automatically submit probation reports and related case information electronically, eliminating the need for manual scanning and data entry.
The launch marks the first phase of a broader initiative to expand efiling in criminal and juvenile justice cases and bring all justice partners onto a unified electronic filing platform. Additional justice partners are expected to be added to efiling in the coming months as the court continues to modernize filing systems and streamline case processing.
