Two works by sculptor Auguste Rodin (1840-1917) donated to the Los Angeles County Museum of Art were shown in a photograph in the Jan. 4, 1973, issue of the Park Labrea News. The artworks – a bronze casting, left, and the original plaster cast of Rodin’s “Minotaur and Nymph” (circa 1886) – were donated by Leona Cantor, a Beverly Hills collector and supporter of the museum. They were among a selection of 11 Rodin works donated that year by Cantor to LACMA, according to the accompanying article. The pieces remain in the museum’s collection.
