Work is ongoing at the Los Angeles County Museum of Art ahead of the opening of the new David Geffen Galleries in April. On Jan. 21, a massive crane was used to remove temporary air conditioning units at the new building, according to a crew member for the crane company.

In front of LACMA, artist Chris Burden’s iconic “Urban Light” is getting a new coat of paint. Each of the 202 vintage streetlamps is being cleaned and repainted in the original neutral gray color used by Burden. Crews are currently re-painting the western half of the sculpture, which is cordoned off by temporary gates until the work is completed.
