Kiefer Sutherland was arrested around 12:15 a.m. on Jan. 12 after he allegedly assaulted a rideshare driver near Sunset Boulevard and Fairfax Avenue in Hollywood.

Los Angeles Police Department spokesman J. Chavez said the driver called police and officers arrived and identified the suspect as Sutherland, 59, who was taken into custody at the scene.

“The suspect entered the rideshare vehicle, assaulted the driver and made criminal threats,” Chavez said. “He was arrested for making criminal threats. The victim did not sustain injuries or require medical treatment.”

The incident remains under investigation by detectives with the LAPD’s Hollywood Division. Sutherland was booked for making criminal threats and released on $50,000 bail. He is scheduled to appear in Los Angeles County Superior Court on Feb. 2.

Sutherland has starred in dozens of movies and TV shows including “The Lost Boys,” “Young Guns,” “Flatliners,” “A Few Good Men” and “24.”
