Wilshire Boulevard Temple presents “A Very Wicked Chanukah Aglow” on Sunday, Dec. 7. Pre-show concessions begin at 4:15 p.m. and the musical starts at 5 p.m.

Each year, Wilshire Boulevard Temple transforms its sanctuary into a world of immersive storytelling and wonder for its signature event “Chanukah Aglow.” The beloved community celebration reimagines the Festival of Lights through a theatrical experience that blends live performance, original music, projection and intricate set design. This year’s “Wicked”-themed musical continues the tradition of imaginative storytelling, leading families on a journey to “Wilshiz” – a world of courage, friendship and light in dark times. Made possible through the generosity of Margie Blatt, “Chanukah Aglow” celebrates family, tradition and the joy of Jewish life.

“Chanukah is a story of hope and a rededication to the deepest core of our Jewish values, the power of light,” said Lisa Peicott, senior cantor at Wilshire Boulevard Temple. “In the darkest time of the year, and in a challenging time in our world, ‘Chanukah Aglow’ is a reminder of this core value, but is transmitted to our congregation and the Los Angeles community through the magic and awe of live theater.”
