Metro subway construction has entered the final phases in the Miracle Mile and on the eastern edge of Beverly Hills, where the first segment of the D Line extension is expected to open in the first quarter of 2026.

The first segment of the line runs between Wilshire/Western and Wilshire/La Cienega. Ahead of the opening, crews are completing street restoration work around the Wilshire/La Cienega station. New curbs, sidewalks, pedestrian ramps and tree wells are being constructed on the south side of Wilshire Boulevard east of La Cienega Boulevard. Crews will also implement a temporary center-lane work zone on Wilshire Boulevard to restore a median at Tower Drive. Two lanes of traffic remain open in each direction between La Cienega and San Vicente boulevards. Hamilton and Tower drives may be intermittently closed.

Street-level construction has been suspended during the holidays around the Beverly Drive station in Beverly Hills. Work will resume on Jan. 2. K-rail enclosures remain in place along the curb lanes of Wilshire Boulevard near Beverly Drive through the end of December. Two lanes are open in each direction between Beverly and Crescent drives.

Work continues on the underground station. In January, work will be ongoing on the South Reeves Drive station entrance plaza/portal. Full street and sidewalk restoration will also occur along Wilshire Boulevard. Metro is finalizing appendage construction for the remaining structures adjacent to the underground station.

Crews plans to start removing the sound wall along North Cañon Drive in January, restoring Cañon Drive and the area adjacent to the construction staging yard. The work is scheduled to be complete in March.

Progress is occurring at the Century City station. Deck panel removal and street restoration are expected to begin soon along the project footprint on Constellation Boulevard between Century Park East to a location just west of Avenue of the Stars.

LADWP utility infrastructure work is ongoing through Dec. 31 on Century Park East just south of Constellation Boulevard to provide permanent power to the future station. Lane closures will occur during weekday daytime hours and potentially on weekends.
