Registration is open for the Griffith Park Run Half Marathon and 5K, which will be held on Sunday, Feb. 1.

The run benefits the Los Angeles Parks Foundation and contributes to maintaining the beauty and accessibility of L.A.’s parks. Established in 2008, the Los Angeles Parks Foundation enhances and preserves public parks, recreational areas and open spaces.

Participants of all skill levels, from elite athletes and enthusiastic racers to walkers, are invited to participate. The half marathon navigates the main trails of Griffith Park, leading runners past notable landmarks such as the Merry Go Round and the Autry Museum. The 5K route is scenic, flat and shaded. For the first time, dogs are allowed to run alongside owners in the 5K. The half marathon begins at 7:30 a.m., and the 5K starts at 10 a.m.

All participants receive a commemorative medal and T-shirt. The event features booths, food trucks and raffle prizes. Free  parking is available throughout the Griffith Park area and near the start/finish and expo site at The Autry, 4700 Western Heritage Way. To register, visit rungpr.com.
