Thanksgiving is a week away, and the Original Farmers Market, corner of Third and Fairfax, invites visitors to make this year’s celebration memorable and easy. Whether hosting a family feast, attending a cozy Friendsgiving or skipping the cooking altogether, the market has everything needed to make the holiday effortless and delicious.
The market will welcome Prosperity Market’s mobile farmers market pop-up on Friday, Nov. 22, from 10 a.m.-7 p.m., featuring Black-owned food and wellness brands and new holiday gift sets. Guests can shop for seasonal produce, gourmet goods and festive host gifts at Prosperity Market’s signature trailer, which will be parked on the plaza.
The market offers many additional opportunities to make the holidays special. Create a festive tablescape with seasonal décor and dining essentials from the newly opened Pottery Barn and Pottery Barn Kids, Maison by Monsieur Marcel, Williams Sonoma and Cost Plus World Market, and top it off with a floral arrangement from Mullholland Estate.
Marconda’s Puritan Poultry is offering Willie Bird free-range smoked turkeys and Farmers Market Poultry is offering Diestel family ranch turkeys. Customers can reserve a convenient “turkey pick-up” parking spot at the market during Thanksgiving week.
Explore savory vegan delights from Bestie’s Vegan Paradise, featuring options such as “herbivorous ham” and “unreal deli roasted turkey.” Farm Boy Produce and Farm Fresh Produce offer fresh seasonal vegetables for sides.
For dessert, Du-par’s offers its legendary pies and T&Y Bakery, Michelina Artisan Boulanger and Nonna’s Empanadas have something to satisfy every sweet tooth. Don’t forget to grab pecans from Magee’s House of Nuts or The Magic Nut & Candy Company, and homemade treats and a Thanksgiving nibble for a furry friend from The Dog Bakery.
Visitors can also skip cooking and dine at Du-par’s or Marmalade Café, both open for sit-down and take-out dinners on Thanksgiving Day.
The Original Farmers Market is located at 6333 W. Third St. For information, visit farmersmarketla.com.
