The Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority is building the D Line subway extension project between Wilshire/Western and the Westwood/VA Hospital station. Crews are working at many locations along the tunnel alignment under Wilshire Boulevard. Construction around the subway stations may prompt traffic lane closures.

Most of the work is complete on the Wilshire/La Brea and Wilshire/Fairfax stations. Crews are working at the station sites and are completing street restoration work around the stations.

Farther west at the Wilshire/La Cienega station, crews are working in a K-rail work zone on the south side of Wilshire Boulevard between La Cienega and Hamilton Drive. The work is anticipated to continue through November and involves sidewalk demolition, bus pad restoration and street restoration. Intermittent eastbound bumpouts may be implemented, reducing eastbound Wilshire Boulevard to a single lane between Le Doux Road and Hamilton Drive. The work is anticipated to take place from 7 a.m.-3 p.m.

At the Beverly Drive subway station, work is occurring along Wilshire Boulevard in construction staging areas and K-rail work zones. Throughout November, K-rail enclosures will remain in place along the north and south curb lanes of Wilshire Boulevard to support ongoing station construction and appendage construction. Two lanes will remain open in each direction on Wilshire Boulevard between Beverly and Crescent drives.

No construction activity will occur in the public right of way in Beverly Hills during the upcoming holidays season. A holiday subway work moratorium runs from Thanksgiving on Thursday, Nov. 27, through New Year’s Day on Thursday, Jan. 1. Limited work will continue only within the underground station and staging yards. Regular construction outside the station and staging yards will resume on Friday, Jan. 2.

Deck panel removal and street restoration work are scheduled to begin soon along Constellation Boulevard between Century Park East and a location just west of Avenue of the Stars. Traffic control will be implemented in four phases progressing from east to west. Work is ongoing on side structures along the future station within the current traffic closures and will continue following the completion of deck removal.
