Los Angeles Police Department detectives arrested a 37-year-old male suspect on Nov. 6 in the kidnapping and sexual assault of a female minor in Hollywood.

Investigators with the LAPD’s Juvenile Division believe there may be additional victims and are asking them to come forward.

The suspect, David Josue Lopes (also known as David Lopez), was arrested at an undisclosed location in the Westlake area. Police said Lopes was identified as a suspect in the Nov. 5 kidnapping and sexual assault, which allegedly occurred in a restaurant in Hollywood. The defendant is accused of approaching the victim inside the restaurant, taking her to a closed area out of view and physically and sexually assaulting her.

Detectives are investigating the case in conjunction with the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office Sex Crime Unit. On Nov. 12, the District Attorney’s Office charged Lopes with one felony count of forcible lewd act upon a child under 14. He also faces charges of aggravated kidnapping and infliction of bodily harm on a child under 14 years old.

Authorities released a photograph of Lopes in an attempt to identify any other individuals who may have been victimized by the defendant.
