In honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, nonprofit HER too will hold its fifth annual Night of Hope Gala at the Beverly Hills Hotel on Oct. 30.
Since October 2023, HER too has partnered with the Cecilia Gonzalez De La Hoya Cancer Center in East L.A. to provide direct financial assistance to local patients who need help paying for treatments, therapies or supportive care. The Night of Hope Gala will raise critical funds for women in underserved communities with a shared mission – ensuring no woman has to fight breast cancer alone or in financial burden.
Hosted by Matthew Hoffman and sponsored by Fisher Law Corporation, the signature event will present the Profound Impact Award, first given in 2024 to breast cancer surgeon Dr. Dennis R. Holmes, with this year’s honoree to be announced soon. The evening will feature guests including Miss World America 2024 Athenna Crosby and Grammy winner Reggie Calloway. Instead of auction items, the gala will conduct an interactive immersive experience, including a balloon pop, Chinese raffle and heads or tails game. Luxury prizes will include courtside Lakers seats, Dodgers tickets and a trip to Mexico.
HER too was born from Leyna’s 12-year journey alongside her mother, a Marine Corps veteran who battled metastatic breast cancer until her death in 2019. Leyna’s mother had full medical coverage – a privilege that gave her access to the treatment that extended her life for more than a decade. After witnessing firsthand how many women aren’t as fortunate, Leyna created HER too to help women fighting breast cancer bridge the financial gap in care.
