West Hollywood will begin a turf replacement project and complete other repairs at the large dog park and small dog park at West Hollywood Park, 647 N. San Vicente Blvd. The project will begin on Sept. 8 and is expected to be complete on Sept. 22.
The project will be phased into two parts with work occurring first at the large dog park from Sept. 8 at 6 a.m. through Sept. 15 at 6 a.m., followed by the small dog park from Sept. 15 at 6 a.m. through Sept. 22 at 6 a.m. Each dog park is expected to be closed for one week. Patrons are advised to plan accordingly. The city’s dog off-leash area rules, which are posted at all dog park locations, remain in effect.
Closure signs will be posted in advance at the affected locations. The William S. Hart Park Dog Park, located at 8341 De Longpre Ave., will be open during the closures. The Hart Park dog park welcomes dogs of all sizes and there is no specific separation for small dogs.

Gee, as long as they’re replacing that toxic artificial turf, which is smelly, raises the temperature, pollutes the water table, adds plastic to the environment, and oh yeah… causes cancer, why not replace it with something nice and organic and safe, like the stuff they’re going to put down in Hart Park?
