Re “L.A. Remembers Wallis Annenberg,” July 31 issue

The article on Wallis was well written. Except the second paragraph.

Annenberg was the daughter of [Walter] Annenberg – no mother?? Just because he was famous, she most definitely had a mother. I find this very objectionable.

Editor’s Note: Wallis Annenberg’s mother was Bernice Veronica Dunkelman. According to the New York Times, Annenberg lived with her mother in Washington following Dunkelman’s divorce from Walter Annenberg in 1950.
