Re “Cole’s French Dip closure sends shockwaves through restaurant community,” July 10 issue
Musso & Frank, of course, is saddened and heartbroken by the news of Cole’s closing on Aug. 3.
Cole’s proudly served the Los Angeles community since 1908 and offered a unique old-world experience to both the local community and visitors alike. Cole’s honored their legacy team members and patrons with honor and dignity.
Unfortunately, the reasons given for their closing have long been felt by many other popular restaurants around the city. We can only hope that improvements are rapidly coming. Many of the economic challenges affecting both historic – and newer – restaurants throughout Southern California, especially during the past five years, have occasionally been intense.
As more and more iconic and beloved L.A. restaurants continue to shutter (both Cole’s, and The Pantry in March) we are honored and humbled to be heading into our 106th anniversary year starting on Sept. 27.
Musso’s will continue the tradition of fine dining and old-world service that longtime regulars and visiting customers from around the world have come to rely upon.
