Metro has announced that applications for the Public Safety Advisory Committee are open. The deadline to submit an application is Tuesday, Sept. 16.
Committee members make a meaningful impact in the community, collaborate with passionate individuals and contribute to the growth and success of Metro initiatives. The committee reviews, comments and provides input on how the agency can reimagine public safety on the transit system.
Metro is seeking individuals who regularly ride the system and are committed to supporting the agency in fulfilling its public safety mission. Metro also seeks to ensure that the perspectives of youth, women, seniors and people with disabilities are represented. Members serving on the Public Safety Advisory Committee are not required to be U.S. citizens but must reside in Los Angeles County.
Committee meetings occur in person monthly over a two-year term, with the potential for additional outreach, engagement and subcommittee meetings as deemed necessary. The PSAC is seeking riders and expertise in racial justice, equitable transit, public safety reform, law enforcement, victims’ rights, mental health advocacy, homelessness and social services.
For information and to apply, call (213)922-4866 or email psac@metro.net.
