With just three years to go until the 2028 Olympic and Paralympic Games, Beverly Hills is stepping forward as a model of innovation, safety and preparedness. Mayor Sharona Nazarian welcomed members of the LA28 leadership team to tour the Real Time Watch Center – the city’s live-feed camera system recognized nationally as a gold standard in public safety technology and coordination.

The visit followed two prior meetings between Nazarian and LA28 leaders: one during a convening of 88 mayors at Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass’s residence, and another at the U.S. Conference of Mayors in Tampa, Fla. At both gatherings, the conversation centered around a vital topic – security for the 2028 Games.

“I was proud to extend an open invitation for LA28 leaders to visit our Real Time Watch Center –because when it comes to public safety, Beverly Hills leads by example.

The LA28 delegation included senior leadership from both the organizing and events teams, including CEO Kathy Carter and Events Committee Co-Chair Paul Krekorian.

The tour was led by Beverly Hills Police Chief Mark Stainbrook, who provided an in-depth look at how the city utilizes real-time data, multi-agency coordination and cutting-edge technology to ensure the safety of residents and visitors alike.

“I’m deeply grateful to Chief Stainbrook and the brave men and women of the Beverly Hills Police Department,” Nazarian said. “Their unwavering commitment makes our city not just a destination, but a national leader in safety and security.”
