The Superior Court of Los Angeles County has unveiled its newly redesigned, user-focused website at lacourt.ca.gov. Presiding Judge Sergio C. Tapia II announced on July 1 that after nearly two years of planning, design and development, the website is up and running, presenting a modern digital experience that reflects the court’s ongoing commitment to improving access to justice.

“The launch of the court’s new website represents a major milestone in the court’s mission to meet the needs of court users wherever they are,” Tapia said. “We are proud of the hard work and dedication that went into this effort. The new design puts the user first, whether accessing the site from a phone, tablet or desktop. It is now easier than ever to find important information and services.”

The new website officially replaces the court’s former site at lacourt.org. Users who visit the old website address will automatically be redirected to lacourt.ca.gov. The new website address enhances trust, transparency and alignment with statewide digital standards used by most California government entities.

Key features of the court’s new website include a streamlined homepage with quick links to commonly used resources and features, a mobile-responsive layout that improves usability across all device types, updated content with clearer explanations to improve accessibility for all court users, including self-represented litigants, and an interactive “CourtHelp” tool offering tailored responses to frequently asked questions. The website also has improved translation options, powered by Google Translate, to better serve diverse communities.

To help users transition to the new site, the court has released a series of short videos highlighting key tools and features available to view as a playlist on the court’s YouTube channel.

Justice and external partners have also been asked to update any references or links. While the web domain is changing, court email addresses will remain the same. Emails sent to @lacourt.ca.gov will be forwarded automatically to @lacourt.org, with full transition details to be announced in the coming months.

The launch of lacourt.ca.gov marks a significant step forward in the broader effort to modernize services and better meet the expectations of court users.
