Friends of the L.A. River invites the public to the fourth annual RiverFest, a free all-ages, open-air environmental arts and community festival at the L.A. State Historic Park on Aug. 3 from 2-8 p.m.
The event will showcase the nexus of nature, climate change, culture, history, people and the L.A. River. With heavy emphasis on the arts, RiverFest offers a variety of local artists with live music and dance performances and eco-activities for families. The event will also feature food trucks and an exhibitor marketplace with 40 booths from local environmental, arts, Indigenous and partner organizations such as Clockshop, SFV Audubon Society, Jane Goodall’s Roots & Shoots and CicLaVia. Registration is required.
The activities at RiverFest will share stories of environmental justice, community leadership, challenges faced by the river and Indigenous perspectives on nature and the river. Highlights include Aztec dance company Xipe Totec, DJ sets from DJ Dominiq, interactive environmental art activities for the whole family from PBS SoCal.
“The L.A. River has always been a symbol of resilience and RiverFest is a chance to celebrate that spirit,” said Candice Dickens-Russell, CEO of Friends of the L.A. River. “It reminds us that even in the face of challenges, we will continue to come together, reimagine our collective future and find joy and connection in our community. Everyone is welcome, so we hope folks will come on out to enjoy the music, the art, the river and the simple fun of being together.”
General admission tickets for RiverFest 2025 cover entrance into the festival, access to the Exhibitor and Artist Village and performances, as well as a complimentary raffle ticket. L.A. Historic Park is located at 1245 N. Spring St. To register, visit support.folar.org/event/riverfest-2025/e695195.
